Cross-country skiing
Around Bad Marienberg there are different cross-country skiing trails that are regularly marked und prepared. Because of the geographic location, the winter sports season often starts earlier than in the rest of the Westerwald. Fields and meadows are covered with white snow then.
Tour recommendations
There are two cross-country trails above the town of Bad Marienberg that are connected to the trails of the „Fuchskaute“.
- Wildpark-Loipe (4 km, difficulty "easy")
- Trail „Am Fernsehturm“ (3 km, difficulty "intermediate")
- Connection trail zu the trails of Nisterberg (7 km, difficulty "easy" to "intermediate")
- Westerwald-Loipe (35 km, difficulty "intermediate" to "heavy")
- Description: Bad Marienberg - Lautzenbrücken - Nisterberg -Hof - Stein-Neukirch - Liebenscheid - Weißenberg - Fuchskaute (highest point of the Westerwald: 657 m) – back via Stein-Neukirch to Bad Marienberg
